Best reply ever by Rashidah Abdul Rahman to Nicole Yin who created a petition to ban Korban.
Dear Ms Nicole Yin,

We thank you very much for your kind concern and compassion towards the animals. Indeed, Islam do teach us to be kind to ALL creatures be it man or animal. We are all made by the same Creator. Even to kill an ant for no rhyme or reason is prohibited.

You are indeed very brave to question a practice, that has been deeply rooted in a reliogion that has 2 billion followers. In that 2 billion mass, we have doctors, lawyers, scientists, thinkers, communicators, writers. Many of the so called modern foundings in Science was already discovered by this representation of 2 billion in numbers. We are not a barbaric crowd of human who are blood thirsty violent creatures definitely NOT what the media made us out to be. The atrocities that you see happening around us..is not Islam. Its driven by greed and power crazed individuals, using religion as a medium to oppose. May Allah have mercy on them.

Back to the topic on the Qurban ritual done once a year to honor our Prophet Ibrahim. May I know, if you have the chance to PERSONALLY watched how the ritual is being done? Also wat are the MANDATORY methods in which our animals are slaughtered daily?

There is a long list of criteria but this are some pertinent ones. I hope you will find some time to do FULL RESEARCH before starting such a petition which can create an ugly uproar in a country which pride itself on racial acceptance and tolerance.

Most important rules during animal slaugtering in the Islamic rites are: Animal must be fit and not handicapped. Animal must NOT be pregnant. Animal must be properly fed and maintained with tenderness. The slaughter can ONLY be performed by a SANE ADULT MUSLIM who is strong n fit. NOT anyone can come and Kill another being unless he is a serial killer! The knife used for slaughtering...must be very clean and resharpened after each slaughtering. The slaughter must on the point of pressure, reach the jugular and two major veins ensuring SWIFT and QUICK death of animal. The head must NOT be separated from the body and at no time, should the strike reach the back bone or spine. The animals will be comforted and given water before the process., the animals are separated from each other out of respect that it also feels and understand the surrounding. The invocation of Allahs name IS A MUST and an intention must be consciously made that the death of this animal is purely for consumption. None of the body parts is to be wasted. All of it will be handed out to the poorest of the poor who is in some region starving and in hunger. Meat is a luxury that they cannot afford.

The ritual that you are questioning, is as instructed in our Holy Quran in which very strict guidance are listed. If we are not doing it right than it is not the religion that is questionable but the people who is not doing in accordance to the teachings.

I would like to reiterate, that you attend for yourself and witness what goes on. As a child i attended this event and was feeling scared in the beginning. My father took his time to explain the whole process. We were allowed to stroke and pat our animal before offering it as a gift to the poor. We take honor to be present as if to tell the animal that we are there with them and that we will meet again in afterlife in the sirratul mustaqim. This animal that was offered today will be raised to witness what we have done for our fellow needy brothers n sisters in faith.

Nicole, this is a religion of Mercy and Compassion. We dont need activists to question our rituals. The very fact that we NOT condone the use of machinations to cull the animal already show the respect and honor we have for it. We placed a very sincere INTENTION upon touching the animal to comfort it and take its life away with full respect. Its madness otherwise to be handling struggling animals but we adhere because this is the basic fundamentals of Islam when it comes to consumption of livestocks.

Please do your own research in the benefits of Islamic Slaughtering and compare it to the conventional method. Compare also why Muslims abstain from pork. It has got to do with veins and neck. Islam knows 1400 years ago what modern world is discovering only in the 21st centuries. Perhaps it is the culling of pigs and its consumption you should be petitioning for, since you have that much time.

I am not opposed to your voicing out your concerns. You are a brave young girl and learned but I and the rest of my fellow muslim request that you do ADEQUATE research into all areas and reasoning as to why we do what we do.

Thank you. Happy Eid Mubarak to my fellow Muslims around the globe..indeed this is our Jihad. To explain to a non believer what they know not. As the Prophet S. A.W had mentioned, Holding on to Islam in the Final Days will be like holding on to burning coals. We are heavily tested. Allahu Akbar Wa lilah Ilham

and petition was closed.

FBI begins probe into 1MDB, says WSJ

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has reportedly started investigations into allegations of money-laundering related to 1MDB. – Internet pic, September 20, 2015.

Two days after the arrest of the former Batu Kawan Umno vice-chief, who was scheduled to meet agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on 1Malaysia Development Bhd, the FBI has started investigations into allegations of money-laundering, The Wall Street Journal reports today.

The FBI’s probe was the latest international investigation centred on 1MDB, said the business daily in its online report.

On Tuesday, the Swiss attorney-general’s office said Malaysia had agreed to arrange for Swiss investigators to interview witnesses in their investigation of alleged corruption and money laundering related to 1MDB. The Swiss have also frozen millions of dollars.

The state investment fund, the brainchild of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, was set up in 2009 and has amassed debts of up to RM42 billion.

Datuk Khairuddin Abu Hassan was scheduled to meet FBI agents tomorrow, his lawyer Matthias Chang told The New York Times but was arrested in his Mont Kiara home on Friday evening.

He was held over offences related to activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy.

Khairuddin had also said he had been blacklisted from travelling overseas.

In July, the WSJ had published claims that RM2.6 billion was deposited into Najib’s bank accounts. In august, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission said the money was from a Middle-Eastern donor and not 1MDB as alleged by some quarters.

In the past fortnight, WSJ had also published allegation from an Abu Dhabi state investment fund that more than US$2 billion repayments from 1MDB have gone “missing”.

WSJ said, however, the FBI’s New York office has clarified that no agent in the office had arranged to meet Khairuddin or had any previous contact with him.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore has also frozen accounts linked to 1MDB and investigating allegations related to it. – September 20, 2015.

Racist customer service given by maxis tesco kepong branch.

by Samantha Resh

We went to pay the bill in this branch and lined up. We did not take a number just as the Chinese customer behind us. As we lined up,a Chinese guy in charge asked us the reason we were there and yet did not ask us to take a number. When it was our turn the Chinese lady at the counter asked for the number and since we didn't have one we were asked to take a number.

The Chinese guy at the back of us as mentioned did not have a number too but was able to pay his bills. When we question the manager he laughed sarcastically and even admitted on being racist and challenged us to make a report. To make matters worst, the number machine ran out paper and after they refilled it he printed out numbers and gave other people who came after us and gave the last number to us. He said we could do nothing but live with that fact. He even gave us a number to complaint claiming it was his manager and when we called up he answered and further laughed at us!!!

Is this how your customers are suppose to be treated? Arrogant and racist customer service provided!

RM2.6 billion is no ordinary donation, but ‘grand corruption’, says Transparency chief

Jose Ugaz, who heads Transparency International, says the RM2.6 billion in Datuk Seri Najib Razak's accounts has all the elements of 'grand corruption'. – The Malaysian Insider pic, September 2, 2015.

Despite Umno leaders dismissing the RM2.6 billion in Datuk Seri Najib Razak's bank accounts as not a big deal, Transparency International chairman Jose Ugaz said it has all the elements of "grand corruption".

The globally renowned anti-graft fighter said grand corruption has three characteristics: it is committed by those in very high positions of power, involves huge amount of money, and has an impact on human rights.

Speaking at the 16th International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, Ugaz said the RM2.6 billion that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak received in his personal bank accounts was an example of grand corruption.

The funds transfer, Ugaz said, was comparable to illicit funds that flowed to major banks such as the United Kingdom’s HSBC and France’s BNP Paribas.

Activists have in the past claimed that HSBC had funnelled money from illegal logging in Sarawak, while a US court had fined BNP Paribas US$9 billion for moving billions of dollars to countries labelled as sponsors of terrorism.

Last month, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed that Najib had received the RM2.6 billion from an unnamed Middle Eastern source for an unspecified purpose.

“If that money is meant to help the poor and it did not go to them, then that impacts their human rights,” Ugaz told The Malaysian Insider on the sidelines of the conference.

“He has not explained, for what and where the money came from and what he was to do when he received it.

“He must also prove that the money is not illicit or that it comes from an illicit source. Political parties should not receive money that comes from illegal origins,” Ugaz said.

Following revelations of the transactions into Najib’s accounts, critics have demanded his resignation.

They also rubbished his explanation that it was to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (Isis), saying the terrorist group was formed much later after 2013, when the transactions took place.

The Umno president has defended the "donation", saying it was for his party.

Najib’s supporters in Umno, such as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, had said that the funds were not a big issue, while Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor described it as "normal" for party presidents to hold funds in trust.

The RM2.6 billion "donation" has been a hot talking point among speakers at the IACC.

On Wednesday, Ugaz said Malaysia’s commitment to tackle corruption could not be taken seriously as long as there was no satisfactory explanation on the matter.

He noted the replacement of Malaysia's attorney-general “who was critical of the government”, suspension of the task force probing into the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) issue, arrests of graft investigators and suspension on a newspaper.

"These are not the actions of a government that is fighting corruption,” Ugaz had told the conference of top anti-graft authorities, experts and activists from around the world. – September 4, 2015.

Khairuddin lodges reports against Najib, Jho Low in HK

KUALA LUMPUR: Sacked Umno Batu Kawan division vice-chairman Khairuddin Abu Hassan lodged several police reports in Hong Kong on August 30 against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Penangite and businessman Jho Low.

He lamented that he had lost faith in investigations conducted in Malaysia by the police, Bank Negara and the Attorney- General. “Ghostly hands, by remote control, have interfered with these investigations.”

He vowed that when the government in Putrajaya changes hands in the near future, before GE14 in 2018, the officials in these investigating bodies complicit with Najib on covering up wrongdoing in 1MDB “would pay for their misdeeds”.

“These are traitors to the people, God and the country.”

Briefly, the police reports in two sets requested the Hong Kong authorities to investigate what transactions, if any, between three companies owned by Jho Low and family had with 1MDB which has reportedly accumulated debts totaling RM42 billion at last count within five years.

Four other companies are also suspect, added Khairuddin, because Najib is a signatory here and the accounts of the companies show that a total of RM1.125 billion has been kept at the Hong Kong branch of Credit Suisse. “I have requested the Hong Kong police to conduct comprehensive and detailed investigations on the financial sources of the companies concerned and their transactions.”

“I requested the authorities concerned to investigate Alliance Assets International Ltd; Cityfield Enterprises Ltd; Bartingale International Ltd; Wonder Quest Investments Ltd. All these companies have Najib as the signatory.”

Khairuddin, at the same time, also lodged another set of police reports on Jynwell Capital (HK); Jynwell Charitable Foundation; and Strategic Resources (Global Ltd), all owned by Jho Low and family.

The rebel Umno Chief explained that he lodged the police reports in Hong Kong because he wants the authorities concerned abroad to conduct comprehensive and detailed investigations on wrongdoing by parties in Malaysia. “These authorities will be able to launch such investigations away from Najib’s interference and meddling. The focus is on 1MDB and to help bring the suspects involved to justice.”
